As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure team and contribute to the delivery of critical water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role is suited to an experienced engineer who is confident working independently, leading components of projects, and supporting the development of others. You will play a key role in technical delivery while contributing to project planning, client relationships, and team capability. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team on a range of projects, applying your experience across design, reporting, and site activities. You will also support junior engineers and contribute to maintaining high technical and quality standards across project delivery. What you’ll do Delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects Prepare and review design calculations and supporting documentation using first principles Prepare design reports and technical specifications Lead or contribute to construction monitoring and site activities Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and review their work Ensure all work meets relevant standards and PDP quality processes Support project delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets, including managing your own workstreams Build and maintain relationships with internal teams and clients What you’ll bring A degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university Around 5 to 10 years’ experience in mechanical design, ideally within water or infrastructure projects Experience delivering design work for multi-disciplinary projects Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing A structured approach to work, with strong attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines Experience reviewing technical work and supporting junior engineers Familiarity with relevant standards and quality processes Commitment to health and safety practice What we offer Fully subsidised health insurance and income protection Ability to purchase extra annual leave through salary sacrifice Salary top-up for parental leave (all primary carers) Full professional membership fee cover and continued study support Multiple opportunities to be part of our inclusion, community, and sustainability groups.
