Job Description

About the Role Be a Specialist Cardiac Sonographer in Te Tai Tokerau. Provide high-quality, timely and appropriate echocardiograms, leading a comprehensive and efficient Cardiac Echocardiography service, including travel to peripheral hospitals. Responsibilities Perform high-quality, timely and appropriate echocardiograms. Participate in a comprehensive, high quality, efficient Cardiac Echocardiography service for Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau, including travel to peripheral hospitals. Operate as an autonomous practitioner capable of high-level and accurate reporting of Echo studies. Conduct adult and paediatric studies, and perform transoesophageal echocardiography and stress echocardiography. Lead and participate in ongoing education and development of other team members. Qualifications Recognised/accredited academic qualification. NZ recognised professional registration; Medical Radiation Technologists Board www.mrtboard.org.nz and/or Australian Sonographer Accreditation Board https://www.asar.com.au/. Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team. Willingness to travel and current driving licence. Location and Team The role is based at Whangarei Hospital and other peripheral sites, as part of a rapidly developing Cardiology service in Te Tai Tokerau.
