# Technician Logistics Support - Fixed Term - Palmerston North at Fire and Emergency New Zealand, Manawatu-Whanganui## Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role* Fixed term until January 2027* Great opportunity for School Leavers/career starters in logistics & equipment* Salary range $59,674 (pro rata), dependent on skills and experienceKick-start your career while learning hands-on skills in equipment, logistics, and emergency response support.**Mō tēnei tūranga - about the role**Reporting to the Manager Regional Equipment & Logistics, this is a varied, hands-on role where you'll learn on the job as part of a small, supportive team.This is a great opportunity if you're practical, enjoy working with your hands, and are keen to build skills in logistics and equipment maintenance. No extensive experience is required – we'll provide training and support.Day-to-day, you will:* Provide friendly, face-to-face service and support to Fire and Emergency NZ personnel* Assist with issuing, tracking, and maintaining operational equipment* Help with equipment servicing, testing, and basic maintenance tasks* Support the storage and distribution of emergency response materials* Learn how to manage records, data, and equipment information systems* Contribute to team projects that improve equipment and logistics services**This is a fixed term opportunity starting ASAP to the 13th of January 2026****Ko tāu nā i tēnei tūranga - What you'll bring to the role**We're looking for someone who is motivated to learn and enjoys practical work.
