Benefits Up to $32.30 per hour Discounts via Perk & Perk Plus app Employee Assistance Programme Opportunity to work with an inspirational team Role Overview The Youth Worker provides support to young people aged 12–18 in a residential respite setting, focusing on mental health and trauma‑informed care while helping them develop life skills and achieve personal goals. Responsibilities Support young people with daily living skills and independence Help plan and work toward individual goals and arrange activities or outings Advocate for participants at appointments and within wider services Perform tasks such as cooking, cleaning, gardening, and other daily duties as required Collaborate with a team to share administrative work Work flexible shifts (morning, afternoon, overnight) to cover as a casual staff member Qualifications Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or equivalent (or currently studying) Experience with young people and understanding of trauma‑informed care Strong de‑escalation and relationship‑building skills Current full New Zealand driver’s licence Current New Zealand first aid certificate or willingness to obtain one Knowledge of and commitment to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi Closing Date 17 July 2026 (positions may close earlier if a suitable candidate is found).
