Job Description
This role is based in our Wellington office. While we are happy to consider work‑from‑home arrangements, this role is not designed for full‑time remote working. Typical day in the life of this role Supporting application and hearing processes by coordinating logistics, managing financial documentation, responding to enquiries, and working closely with internal teams, decision‑makers, and external stakeholders. Current areas of primary focus: providing administrative and coordination support across application processes; managing hearings and meetings; maintaining document systems; supporting financial tracking and cost recovery; and ensuring smooth delivery of regulatory processes. What success looks like: efficient, well‑organised hearings and application processes; high‑quality, timely administration support; strong stakeholder relationships; and continuous improvement of systems and processes to enhance team effectiveness. Required skills and experience Self‑motivated, reliable, and detail‑focused, with a commitment to high‑quality work. A sound decision‑maker who takes a practical, solutions‑focused approach to problem solving. Well‑organised and able to manage competing priorities, pressure, and deadlines. Experienced in administrative support and confident juggling multiple tasks. Technically confident, with the ability to quickly learn new software and systems. Accurate and deadline‑focused when processing financial documents. A clear, professional communicator with a strong customer‑service focus. A positive team contributor who supports others and helps improve processes. Competence with Microsoft Office and administrative systems. Nice to have but non‑essential skills Experience working with statutory bodies or within the public sector. Familiarity with document management or workflow systems. Understanding of machinery of government processes. Experience supporting hearings, panels, or formal decision‑making processes. Experience working in customer‑focused service environments. An interest in science, environmental regulation, or international regulation. Benefits Flexible working culture.
