The Opportunity The organisation is seeking an experienced Food Technologist with meat industry experience to take on a role in the development of products from concept through to commercialisation. Reporting to the Senior Food Technologist, you’ll lead development projects, working in a team to ensure all products meet quality, regulatory, and commercial requirements while guiding projects through the full NPD process. This is a full-time permanent position working 40 hours per week from Monday to Friday. Responsibilities As a Food Technologist, you will be expected to work in product development in a meat processing environment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: End to end product development Meeting customer requirements, quality standards, and cost targets Run product trials and scale up Technical specifications and documentation creation and maintenance Cross-functional collaboration with the wider team Contribute to regulatory compliance, shelf life testing, sensory evaluation, food safety Contribute to ingredient sourcing, supplier selection, raw material specification Packaging and artwork specifications You, the Candidate You will be an experienced Food Technologist with experience in the meat industry, a great attitude, and a willingness to learn and develop. The successful candidate will have the following skills, qualifications, and experience: A tertiary qualification in Food or Dairy Technology, Food Science, or a related field. 2+ years’ commercial experience in NPD in FMCG industry. Experience with meat processing is essential. You must also be comfortable eating all meats. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate, influence, and engage across teams. A proactive, hands‑on, and solutions‑focused approach. Adaptability and resilience when working in a dynamic environment. Apply This role pays $80-90K pa.
