Knitters and Sewers – Volunteering Canterbury When: 15 April – 13 June Location: Anywhere Responsibilities: Knit and sew peggy squares into blankets for distribution to community members in need. Volunteers may work from home, on the bus, or during lunch breaks. Seaside Market Volunteer – New Brighton Project When: Ongoing, Saturdays Location: New Brighton Responsibilities: Assist with setup, pack down, and general support on market days from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm, weather permitting. Bird Monitoring – Styx Living Laboratory Trust When: Ongoing, first Saturday of each month Location: Marshlands Responsibilities: Monitor and count individual water bird species in the Styx River Catchment to compile a long‑term data set. Play Assistant – Imagination Station When: Ongoing Location: Central Christchurch Responsibilities: Assist facilitators, keep things organized, interact with children and build with LEGO.
