Position Details Position will be based at our Grey Lynn site, Auckland in the Specialist Services team We are offering a competitive salary from $111,020 to $133,696 depending on experience. 1 x permanent, full-time position available. The Kia Manawanui team is part of the Tamaki Makaurau Specialist teams based at the Oranga Tamariki Grey Lynn Office. It was developed to meet the needs of complex rangatahi aged between 12-17 years throughout wider Tāmaki Makaurau who are very challenging for traditional social work sites to engage with. Using an intensive social work practice, the team typically works with rangatahi and whānau who have experienced trauma, mental health, severe behavioural presentations, complex living situations and/or offending behaviour. The Kia Manawanui model involves stabilising rangatahi by accessing options across the continuum of their care, engaging rangatahi and identifying their strengths, needs and risks, planning and developing individual plans in conjunction with their whanau and community, and coordinating, implementing and managing plans with rangatahi and other important people in their lives. Experience or understanding of complex intergenerational trauma, accomplished court writing skills, balanced decision making and de‑escalating challenging rangatahi is essential. Qualifications A full, clean, valid driver’s licence Full registration with New Zealand’s Social Work Registration Board (SWRB) Sound decision making, professionalism, and organisational skills An ability to manage and support social workers with complex risks, decision making and court work Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt to your audience Proven engagement, supervisory and leadership skills Experience/understanding working within Te Ao Māori or Pasifika frameworks An ability to build and lead an effective and collaborative team Understanding of children and families with complex needs, and ability to work across systems to bring about positive change A willingness to try new approaches and be adaptable to change The ability to work through heightened situations with composure, resilience, and a proactive approach Excellent time management and organisational skills A positive outlook and supportive team member Benefits A challenging, fascinating and rewarding career opportunity in an awesome and supportive team On‑going training and coaching in therapeutic skills and frameworks Application Deadline Applications close on 19th July 2026. #J-18808-Ljbffr
