Job Description We are looking for a talented individual to join our District Court as a Court Registry Officer in the Criminal team at Dunedin. Court Registry Officer, Dunedin District Court / Otago Region Permanent Full Time Te Haeata/The Opportunity As a Court Registry Officer you will work with a team responsible for the successful operation of the Court. You will liaise with multiple stakeholders who are interacting with the Justice system, including Judges within the courtroom and their chambers, as well as other members of the judiciary. Responsibilities Court Taking – facilitate running the court, including introducing Judges in English and Te Reo Māori, working closely with them in the courtroom and chambers, managing jurors, and administering general court duties. Case Management – ensure that the judiciary and case parties have all the information they need, and that logistics are in place so cases are heard in a timely and efficient manner. Customer Service – interact with customers on any court‑related matter, handling queries face‑to‑face, by phone or email with confidence. Maintain a full clean New Zealand driving licence. Ō Pūkenga / Skills and Experience To be successful, you will need to be: Detail orientated and observant – court processes and case information require accuracy. Self‑aware – comfortable working individually and as part of a team across a range of situations. Multi‑task – manage conflicting priorities and move quickly between tasks. Willing to learn – legislation and court processes evolve, and you should be able to adapt and maintain knowledge. Resilient – handle sensitive cases and high‑volume periods with composure.
