Service Manager, Obstetrics & Gynaecology Permanent full-time role based at Whangārei Hospital supporting Te Tai Tokerau Lead exceptional women's health services. Drive innovation. About the Role As the Service Manager Obstetrics and Gynaecology, you will provide operational leadership across the service, partnering closely with the General Manager and clinical leaders to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, cost-effective and patient-centred care. You will be responsible for leading service performance across a diverse portfolio, including operational leadership for medical, midwifery, allied health, scientific and technical teams. This role has a strong focus on service planning, workforce leadership, quality improvement, financial performance and achieving equitable health outcomes. You will work collaboratively with clinicians and stakeholders to drive innovation, manage risk, support service development and ensure the service continues to meet the needs of patients, whānau and communities across Te Tai Tokearu. This is a highly visible leadership role requiring strong relationship management, sound operational judgement and a commitment to excellence in healthcare delivery. Our Obstetrics and Gynaecology service provides specialist women's health care to communities across Northland, supporting patients and whānau through pregnancy, birth and a wide range of gynaecological care needs. About you As an experienced health leader, you'll bring a collaborative leadership style, strong operational expertise and a passion for delivering high-quality healthcare services. You will have: Recent leadership experience within the health sector, including managing complex services, teams and operational performance Proven experience leading multidisciplinary teams and delivering outcomes within budget, quality and service targets Strong skills in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, quality improvement and change management Demonstrated understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and a commitment to achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori A leadership or management qualification (or evidence of working towards one), with exceptional communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills Working at Health New Zealand Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora is dedicated to ensuring excellent healthcare for the people of New Zealand.
