Senior Environmental Scientist

Senior Environmental Scientist – Auckland or Hamilton – Contaminated Land We’re looking for an experienced and motivated senior environmental scientist to join our Contaminated Land Management team. In this role, you’ll deliver high‑quality consultancy services across a range of complex and impactful projects, while helping to grow our capability and strengthen client relationships locally and nationally. Responsibilities Deliver high‑quality consultancy services on complex and impactful projects. Manage projects across scope, financials, timelines, and client outcomes. Build and maintain trusted relationships with clients. Produce clear technical reports and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Qualifications Around 8–10+ years’ experience in contaminated land management or a related discipline. Strong technical capability across site investigations, remediation, and contaminated land assessment. Proven experience managing projects, including scope, financials, timelines, and client outcomes. Collaborative, client‑focused approach, with the ability to build and maintain trusted relationships. Relevant tertiary qualification (Geology, Engineering Geology, Environmental Science, or similar). Professional accreditation (such as CEnvP) or working towards it. Commercial awareness, with the ability to identify opportunities and contribute to business growth. Strong communication skills, with the ability to produce clear technical reports and engage effectively with diverse stakeholders. Health & Safety Health and Safety is a core paramount value of WSP.
