Job Description

Job Category: Agriculture, Nature & Animal About CRV At CRV, we’re proud to be at the forefront of innovation in the dairy industry. As a global leader in herd improvement with operations across Europe, North and South America, Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, our mission is simple: to help dairy farmers build healthy, efficient herds through cutting‑edge genetics and expert support. We partner with farmers to provide world‑class genetic tools and insights that help them meet their unique goals. With a strong focus on innovation and adaptability, we’re committed to delivering solutions that respond to evolving industry needs — here in New Zealand and around the world. Job Description About the Role CRV is seeking a reliable, motivated individual to join our Herd Testing team for the 2026/27 season. This role plays an important part in supporting dairy farmers by collecting accurate herd performance data used for herd management and breeding decisions. As a Herd Test Technician, you will work on dairy farms throughout the lower North Island, setting up herd testing equipment, collecting milk samples during milking, and accurately recording herd data using electronic systems. Herd testing is a critical part of our data capture service, which assists farmers with managing their herd, their genetics, and the profitability of their businesses. The data is also used as an integral part of CRV’s genetic improvement programme. This is an independent role requiring strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate your own schedule while working closely with farmers and the wider CRV team. Work is carried out around milking times and seasonal demand, with early starts, flexible hours, and occasional overnight travel required. This is a seasonal role from August 2026 – June 2027, covering the Taranaki and Lower North Island area. What You'll Need Some knowledge of dairy farming would be ideal but full on‑job training is provided Comfortable working around livestock and in dairy shed environments Physically fit with some heavy lifting required Strong organisational and time management skills #J-18808-Ljbffr
