About the Role We have a rare opportunity to join our construction Protégé Training Scheme. Reporting to our Newmarket office with travel nationwide, the ideal candidate will hold a relevant tertiary qualification. We consider candidates with proven experience within engineering consultancies or construction environments, recent graduates, and anyone bringing relevant sector experience and the right personal qualities. Qualifications and Skills A tertiary qualification in civil, structural or geotechnical engineering, building or quantity surveying Attainment of (or significant progression towards) chartered status within the discipline Experience where skillset translates to assessment and quantification of construction losses An inquisitive and open mind for investigative work to determine core facts and details Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including conflict resolution and ability to put people at ease High standard of written English and numeracy, along with good Word and Excel skills for reports and claim calculations Readiness to handle any job, large or small Eagerness to learn and develop professionally (including company‑funded qualifications) The right to work and reside in New Zealand (although a New Zealand Immigration accredited employer, visa support is available under the Talent Scheme) Responsibilities Facilitating and assisting with the settlement of major and complex construction insurance claims, including: Adjuster site visits and inspections Discussion of circumstances of the loss with the insured and other parties Appointment of and liaison with industry experts Preparation of reports to the insurance company or client in a timely manner Calculation, negotiation and delivery of settlement outcomes Managing a significant file load, meeting individual performance targets, and delivering a high standard of work at all times Developing professional relationships with insurers, brokers, and broader industry networks Delivering expected levels of customer service Participating in ongoing training, development, and mentoring programmes to contribute to team skill growth Benefits Opportunity to learn and develop professionally through the unique Protégé training scheme Making a difference in people’s lives in a core role Working for a leading global organisation with a fantastic reputation Valuing and welcoming diversity, enhancing team strength Great team culture with a mindset for internal career development Access to Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Wellbeing benefits such as wellness allowance, group life insurance and critical illness insurance Celebration of birthday with a day off each year Sedgwick is an Equal Opportunity Employer. #J-18808-Ljbffr
