Permanent position. The role is based in Kapiti and may involve rotation within other Te Tari Pūreke teams. About Us Te Tari Pūreke – Firearms Safety Authority is NewZealand’s firearms regulator. Our vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world. We deliver four core functions: implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting safe possession and lawful use of firearms. We foster a culture of safe and responsible firearms use, gun ownership and awareness in collaboration with the firearms community, stakeholders, and fellow agencies. About the Role The Compliance & Resolutions Officer plays an integral part in ensuring regulatory and legislative requirements are met by the firearms licence community. The officer supports regulatory compliance and delivers a high‑quality service the public deserves and expects, building a culture of high performance that is inclusive, innovative, agile, and passionate in meeting Te Tari Pūreke outcomes. Key Accountabilities Assess licence applications, permits and endorsements. Educate licence holders to understand their responsibilities, intervening to improve compliance. Apply improvement notices, prescribed conditions, warning letters, temporary suspensions, revocations, and refusals. Provide accurate information and recommendations. Ensure compliance activities are completed in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. Maintain accurate, detailed records. Work Hours Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00 hrs. Special Requirements Previous service centre / phone‑based experience is desirable, although not essential. Applicants must be New Zealand Permanent Residents. The role is at the Individual Contributor level.
