St John of God Halswell supports people living with a disability to lead engaging and fulfilling lives. Our 60-room residential care facility is situated in attractive grounds with award-winning gardens. Join our team as a Support Worker to make a genuine difference in the lives of people with complex disabilities. About the Role We are requiring experienced Support Workers for new afternoon shifts. This position combines healthcare support with daily living assistance in a warm collaborative environment. You will provide the following: Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse you will support and assist residents to lead engaging and fulfilling lives. Mobility Support by using specialised equipment for transfers. Follow care plans that enable residents in their health and wellbeing. Documentation by maintaining accurate, electronic health records. Work collaboratively with the Activities and Rehabilitation Team to support residents to achieve lifestyle goals and community connections. Continue to achieve NZQA Health and Wellbeing Certificate levels with support of your manager and Workforce Development team. About You The ideal person for our team is interested in supporting people and has good communication skills. Other skills, and experience that are highly preferred are: Caregiving experience (2+ years preferable). Experience supporting people living with conditions such as Huntington's disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease, Cerebral Palsy, Stroke, and people living with brain injuries. Existing Work Visa with 2 New Zealand work referees. New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing at any level.
