We are looking for an experienced Training Advisor to build capability across our Recreation, Sport & Events Customer Experience network, helping frontline teams deliver exceptional customer experiences every day. The role of the Customer Experience Training Advisor within the Recreation, Sports and Events Unit has responsibility for onboarding and upskilling new and existing staff, leadership development and delivery of world‑class customer service. This is a highly operational role that combines adult learning expertise, complex systems training, frontline coaching and continuous improvement. Deliver onboarding, systems training, refresher training and leadership development programmes Deliver both one‑on‑one coaching and group facilitation workshops Provide complex systems and process training to frontline teams Maintain and develop Standard Operating Procedures and learning resources Identify gaps in knowledge, processes and capability and develop solutions This role supports teams across our network of recreation and sport facilities, so regular travel within Ōtautahi Christchurch is required. A full NZ driver’s licence is essential. We are seeking a capable Training Advisor who can establish strong credibility with frontline teams and leaders quickly. You will have: Proven experience delivering adult learning and workplace training in an operational environment A passion for delivering world‑class service, demonstrated through a commitment to lifting capability, enabling great customer experiences, and embedding service excellence across teams Experience in training staff on complex business systems, software platforms or technical processes Strong facilitation skills across classroom, workshop and one‑on‑one environments Experience coaching frontline customer‑facing teams Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship‑building skills Experience developing training resources, SOPs and learning documentation Strong digital literacy and ability to quickly learn new systems You will also have significant experience in training design and delivery of adult learning, excellent literacy and computer skills, strong attention to detail and a passion for service excellence. Highly desirable experience includes recreation and sport, hospitality, contact centres, retail operations, local government or other customer service environments. Hours of work: Monday to Friday Position: Full‑time, permanent Starting: We're looking for someone to ideally start as soon as possible Location: This position will be based at one of our Recreation & Sports facilities (specific facility to be agreed). Salary: The salary band for this position goes from $81,227 to $90,252 per annum based on a 40 hour week. We understand that recruitment processes can be challenging.
