Parking Adjudicator at Hamilton City Council, Hamilton, N, NZ. This full‑time on‑site position offers opportunities for career growth within the Infrastructure and Assets Group, which is dedicated to delivering resilient infrastructure and services. Job Description As a Parking Adjudicator you will provide essential administrative support to our Parking Activity and City Transportation Unit. Your role will keep our business systems and day‑to‑day operations running efficiently, ensuring the city moves smoothly. You will be the go‑to person for infringement administration and technical advice, delivering accurate, timely support while providing professional customer service to internal teams and the public. Responsibilities Review all incoming correspondence related to the infringement process, investigate and make decisions in line with current guidelines and legislation. Pay close attention to detail in all documentation and records. Provide specialist parking advice to customers face‑to‑face, by letter, email or telephone. Process customer requests for payment plans following the applicable guidelines and time limits. Identify and recommend opportunities for process and system improvement. Work with team and relevant parties to develop and execute improvements. Review, develop and report on improvement initiatives for all systems and processes related to the area of expertise. Respond to and resolve customer queries or complaints internally and externally professionally and in a timely manner. Amend documents when statutory requirements, bylaws and precedent codes change (e.g., infringement notices, abandoned vehicles). Provide administrative support to Parking staff, including the Urban Transport Manager, Parking Team Leader and Parking Business Analyst when required. Maintain and review Parking SOPs, desk files and quality documents. Assist with the effective implementation of the Parking portion of the City Transportation Unit’s Annual Business Plan. Qualifications Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as Administration or equivalent on‑the‑job experience. Minimum of 4 years’ experience in an operations environment, preferably in administration or customer service. Advanced competency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience working in a regulated environment with an investigative mindset. Local government experience (preferred). Experience supporting management in a corporate environment. Experience developing and maintaining SOPs and desk files. Knowledge of parking‑related legislation (preferred). Current clean driver’s licence.
