Clinical Nurse Specialist – Paediatric Neurodevelopmental Hawkes Bay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital – Permanent / Part‑Time, 64 Hours a fortnight (0.8FTE) Health NewZealand | Te WhatuOra is firmly grounded in the principles of TeTiritioWaitangi and is committed to building a health system that serves all New Zealanders. About the Role As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Paediatric Neurodevelopmental you will provide specialist nursing expertise to support tamariki and rangatahi with neurodevelopmental conditions, with a particular focus on ADHD. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will coordinate care, manage referrals and triage processes, support neurodevelopmental assessments, and provide ongoing clinical care that improves outcomes for children and their whānau. Key Responsibilities Coordinate care, manage referrals and triage processes for tamariki and rangatahi with neurodevelopmental conditions, particularly ADHD. Support neurodevelopmental assessments and provide ongoing clinical care that improves outcomes for children and their whānau. Provide education, advocacy and clinical leadership to shape and grow the specialist service. Improve access to services, reduce waiting times, support equitable health outcomes, and build partnerships with schools, community providers and healthcare teams. About the Team / Service / Location Our Paediatric Service is committed to delivering high‑quality, whanau‑centred care for children and young people across HawkesBay. The Neurodevelopmental team works closely with paediatricians, the Child Development Service, paediatric outpatients and community partners to provide coordinated support for tamariki with neurodevelopmental needs. Based at HawkesBay Fallen Soldiers Memorial Hospital, you will join a passionate and collaborative team focused on improving access, equity and outcomes for the children and families we serve. About You Registered Nurse with current Nursing Council of NewZealand registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate (APC). At least five years clinical experience in paediatric nursing, public health, child psychiatry or a related specialty. A postgraduate nursing qualification (or equivalent experience) and commitment to ongoing professional development. Strong clinical assessment, communication and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams and community settings.
