Fixed-term role through to August 2027 Full time role based in Wellington The role | Te tūnga As Advisor – Marketing and Communications you will be part of the Communications Team within the Office of the Chief Executive. We are a centralised communications and marketing function providing strategic and tactical marketing and communications support across Stats NZ. You will provide customer‑centred communications advice, support and content across Stats NZ, with a strong focus on internal and organisational communications. You’ll help develop and deliver clear, fit‑for‑purpose communications for a range of audiences, including stories, articles, newsletters, intranet and digital channel content, and communications plans that support key organisational priorities. This role will suit someone who enjoys writing, building strong relationships, and helping people understand and connect with Stats NZ’s strategic priorities. We’re looking for someone who brings: Strong writing, editing and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly for different audiences. Internal communications experience, or a clear interest and aptitude for internal and organisational communications. Experience in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related field, ideally supported by a relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge. Excellent relationship‑building and collaboration skills, with confidence working alongside stakeholders and subject matter experts across an organisation. A customer‑service focus, sound judgement, strong attention to detail and good time management. Practical experience using communications channels such as intranet, website CMS, newsletters or social media platforms. Digital communications skills, such as video capability, would be helpful but are not essential. Experience working in change environments would be an advantage.
