Job Summary Registered Nurse – 0.8FTE (32 hours per week) – Acute Medical Ward – Tauranga Hospital, Bay of Plenty. About the Role The 4M Acute Medical Ward provides care for a diverse range of patients, including Respiratory, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Oncology specialties, while supporting rehabilitation and safe transition back to the community. This part‑time position is ideal for nurses seeking clinical variety in a supportive, high‑performing environment. Key Responsibilities Deliver acute medical care to patients in the ward. Specialise in Respiratory, Endocrinology, Cardiology, and Oncology care. Coordinate rehabilitation and transition plans for patients returning to the community. Collaborate with medical and allied health teams to optimise patient outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with health standards. Qualifications & Experience Registered Nurse credential in New Zealand, NZNR and Annual Practising Certificate. Proven experience in an acute hospital or similar clinical setting. Experience working as a Nurse in an acute Medical/Surgical setting in New Zealand. Excellent communication, time‑management, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with medical and allied health teams. Competency with Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori, or a commitment to learning and growth in these areas. Experience in projects/initiatives that advance Te Tiriti principles, Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare.
