This is a hands-on precision engineering role, primarily focused on working with small, intricate surgical instruments rather than large machinery, making it ideal for qualified tradespeople who enjoy detailed technical work and problem-solving in a specialised healthcare environment. The role is primarily based at Auckland City Hospital, with occasional travel to other local sites.**Key responsibilities include:*** Service, maintain, repair, and refurbish surgical instruments.* Ensure medical devices are safe, fit for purpose, and compliant with relevant standards.* Provide technical support for clinical equipment across hospital sites.* Respond to equipment-related issues as part of the Clinical Engineering team.* Contribute to the delivery of high-quality Clinical Engineering services that support patient care.**About the Team/Service**The Procurement, Supply Chain and Health Technology (PSC&HTM) team at Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora are a national function with a vast and complex scope. They play a critical role in ensuring the availability, safety, and efficiency of clinical and non-clinical goods and services across the health system. Responsible for managing and influencing over $9 billion in annual spend, the team are central to delivering high-quality patient outcomes and standardising product usage across regions.**About you**You are a trade-qualified technician or engineering professional with strong practical skills and a customer-focused approach.
