Job Description
What you’ll do Lead by Example: Drive the design and implementation of scalable, efficient back-end systems tailored for AI applications, while actively contributing code. Technical Architecture: Define and oversee the technical architecture and system design, ensuring alignment with AI integration and best practices. Engineering Excellence: Foster a culture of engineering excellence, mentoring and coaching team members to achieve their full potential and instilling best practices across the team. Security & Compliance: Maintain and improve strict security protocols for our multi-tenant environment, ensuring data integrity and compliance. Collaborate: Work closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and engineering leadership to develop and execute product and engineering roadmaps. Innovate: Stay abreast of advancements in AI technologies, specifically in areas such as Retrieval Augmented Generation, Evaluations, Vector Databases and Search, to inform product development. Product Discovery: Engage with product teams and customers during product discovery phases to ensure alignment with market needs. Facilitate: Communicate between cross-functional teams, resolving blockers and promoting a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and inspire team members toward shared objectives. Full Stack Software Engineer with the following expertise: 8+ years of experience designing, building, and supporting large-scale systems. Strong proficiency in C# .NET Framework / .NET Core, and REST API design and development. Solid understanding of Azure PaaS and Azure Web App services. Experience with GitHub. AI Experience: At least 2 or more real-world experiences in: Retrieval-Augmented Generation Evaluations Semantic Kernel MS Agent Framework Experience integrating and deploying AI models and AI services in Cloud infrastructure. Experience designing, conducting, and analysing experiments to validate hypotheses and optimize product features. Architectural Knowledge: Deep understanding of various system architecture paradigms and the ability to pragmatically apply them to real-world scenarios. Agile Methodologies: Comfortable working in an Agile development environment, with a strong focus on iterative development and continuous improvement. Leadership: Experience navigating complex problems both from a technical perspective, but product and people development as well. Location The preferred location is Tauranga or Wellington, but other New Zealand locations will be considered for the right person.
