Site Maintenance Engineer – 6-Month Contract Hourly rate negotiable based on experience. Full-Time Hours – Global Manufacturing Leader An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Maintenance Engineer to join a globally recognised, award-winning manufacturing organisation based in Mount Maunganui. This is a 6‑month contract role supporting a complex, fast‑paced manufacturing operation that runs 24/7 and operates a Major Hazard Facility. We are seeking a hands‑on maintenance professional who can effectively lead maintenance activities, manage contractors, and ensure plant reliability, safety and compliance. The Opportunity Reporting into the site leadership team, you will be responsible for managing maintenance systems and activities across the manufacturing site, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, and compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements. Key Responsibilities Manage day‑to‑day maintenance activities and respond to operational maintenance issues Oversee the maintenance of plant equipment, tools and site assets Plan and coordinate scheduled plant maintenance and shutdown activities Ensure plant and equipment operate safely and in accordance with company policies, regulatory requirements and best practice standards Identify equipment failures, risks and non‑conformances, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence Manage external maintenance contractors, including selection, engagement and performance management Maintain accurate maintenance records, reporting and compliance documentation Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency and operational performance About You Previous maintenance experience within a New Zealand manufacturing, industrial or production environment Strong knowledge of New Zealand health and safety legislation and compliance requirements The ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple priorities and responding proactively to operational challenges Experience using Microsoft Office and SAP, along with the ability to quickly learn site‑specific systems and controls Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Rapid Lean and Management of Change (MOC) Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively across operations, engineering and contractor teams What’s On Offer?
