The Role Based at the Whangārei Hospital campus, you will lead multiple concurrent remediation, upgrade, and infrastructure projects at various stages of delivery. Projects typically range from $2m to $5m, with larger programmes reaching up to $50m. You will take ownership from project inception through to completion, ensuring delivery against scope, budget, programme, and quality objectives, while overseeing project closeout and post‑occupancy reviews. You will play a key role in building strong relationships with consultants, contractors, clinical teams, and other stakeholders to manage risk, governance, reporting requirements, and coordinate all aspects of project delivery, while balancing operational requirements within live healthcare environments. The role also involves leading feasibility assessments, overseeing procurement and contractor management, driving compliance with regulatory and organisational standards, and ensuring successful handover of completed works. What You'll Bring A minimum of 5 years’ project management experience delivering concurrent projects across multiple environments Proven experience in engineering, construction, or consultancy, ideally within the healthcare or government sector Demonstrated experience delivering projects on time and within budget Strong understanding of New Zealand building codes and compliance requirements Capability in MS Project for planning and reporting Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills across diverse groups Experience managing contractors, suppliers, and multidisciplinary project teams Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and drive outcomes What’s in it for you?
