The Kind Foundation - Volunteer opportunity 2026

The Kind Foundation (previously YMCA) is seeking students interested in volunteering during the upcoming school holidays. Our Holiday Programmes cater to children aged 5-11 years old in three different locations, Papa Hou in the City, Bishopdale Rec Centre, and Te Kāpehu Riccarton Primary. The programmes offer a variety of fun activities such as Orana Wildlife Park, Science Dayand Clip and Climb. Volunteers gain work experience, apply leadership skills, meet other young people and have fun. We have supervisors onsite at all times to support the volunteers and children with any concerns. The role of a volunteer is to interact with the children, build relationships, engage in activities and support with the overseeing of the group. Offsite activities are on us, volunteers don’t need to pay for any activities or transport during the day. Please note students must be 15+ years old to volunteerwith us. Volunteers will receive a free gym member which can be used at Elevate City and Bishopdale, as a thank you. Interviews for the programme start next week, Wednesday 4thMarch and Thursday 5thMarch. So please inform students they must be prompt in submitting the application formif they wish to be have avolunteeringopportunityover the school holidays.
