About the Role Registered Nurses – Child Health Services, Whangarei Hospital – Part time with no fixed hours. Child Health Services in Whangārei is looking for dedicated nurses to join our team in a flexible, part‑time capacity with no fixed hours. This role is ideal for someone who values making a meaningful difference every day by supporting tamariki and their whānau through vulnerable moments. Responsibilities Provide skilled family‑focused nursing care through the application of clinical knowledge and theory to nursing practice. Demonstrate an ability to develop, evaluate and change care plans as required. Identify and interpret changes in the neonate/child’s condition and respond appropriately. Competently perform clinical skills specific to area of practice. Demonstrate awareness of the neonatal/child/family/whānau cultural and spiritual beliefs and values. About the Team/Service/Location The Children’s Ward is located in the recently completed facilities in the Te Kotuku Building at Whangārei Hospital. This is a 22‑bed paediatric ward and a 4‑bed acute assessment unit providing care for medical, orthopaedic and surgical patients. The ward cares for children from birth through to their 16th birthday. The Child Health Centre Clinic provides paediatric outpatient services for children from all over Northland. These include paediatrician, allied health and nurse‑led clinics located in the Child Health Centre on the Whangārei Hospital campus. About you New Zealand Registered Nurse with a current Annual Practicing Certificate Two years post‑graduate experience in a Child Health setting Initiative and motivation Good team player and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team Excellent communication skills We welcome applications from our diverse Māori, Pacific, disabled and rainbow communities.
