We’re looking for an experienced, dedicated Registered Nurse to step into a pivotal leadership role as Unit Coordinator for the Hospital Unit at Hilda Ross Retirement Village in Hamilton East, Hamilton. This is a part‑time position with flexible start times: Sunday: 0800‑1630 Monday: 0800‑1630 Tuesday: 0900‑1300 Responsibilities Inspire and coach the team to deliver care that is “good enough for mum and dad.” Foster a positive culture ensuring a safe, supportive, and enjoyable workplace. Oversee personalized care plans for every resident in the Hospital Unit. Build meaningful connections with residents’ families, visitors, Allied Health Professionals, and District Health Boards. Drive excellence in interRAI assessments and support the nursing team’s growth. Support residents, families, and the team, including occasional flexibility for key events or needs. Engage with the team on all shifts to build strong relationships and support everyone. Communicate clearly and collaboratively, fostering trust and respect within the team. Contribute as a key member of the leadership team, working closely with the Clinical Manager and Village Manager. Qualifications Current annual practising certificate (APC). InterRAI training, or willingness to gain competency. Extensive experience as a Senior Registered Nurse or Nursing Leader. Ability to lead, share knowledge, and motivate the team. Kindness, compassion, and drive to deliver exceptional care. Flexibility to share the on‑call component with other Unit Coordinators as per the roster coordinated by the Village Manager.
