Operator - Hazardous Waste

While WM New Zealand is well known for our iconic red trucks and bent to keep communities and environment clean and safe, many people might not be aware of our Technical Services division. This specialist team of highly qualified staff runs purpose‑built processing facilities for the safe disposal of hazardous and liquid wastes in compliance with all relevant laws and by‑laws. Job Description About the Role: As an Operator, you will play a crucial role in operating our equipment for processing medical and biosecurity waste in a safe and responsible manner. You will receive thorough training, including a buddy system to ensure safety and confidence within the workplace. Qualifications Key Responsibilities: Loading and operating bin lifters and conveyors Operating the Rotoclave steam sterilising units Unloading the sterilising units Foam washing and lining of bins. Movement of wheeled bins around the plant (up to 200kg) Some lifting of containers – up to 20kgs Palletising of export waste Skills/Requirements: A great can‑do attitude and willingness to learn. (All training will be provided) Forklift experience is desirable but not essential. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Additional Information What’s in it for you?
