Job Description

Overview Mental Health Clinician – Acute Response Team (ART) at the Adult Community Mental Health Team, Rotorua. Permanent full‑time or part‑time position. Key Responsibilities Deliver specialist crisis intervention to tangata whaiora presenting with a mental health crisis. Provide advanced assessment, formulation and management of complex nursing care in an acute community mental health care setting. Work alongside tāngata whai ora and whānau to achieve a meaningful health outcome. Engage in contemporary practice with an equity focus to improve outcomes for Māori accessing care. Hours and Shift Pattern Hours negotiable: Full time (40 hrs/week) or Part time (32 hrs or less/week). Rostered shifts – AM 7:00–15:00, PM 15:00–23:00, Night 23:00–7:00. Overnight coverage 19:00–7:00. Qualifications and Experience New Zealand Registered Nurse eligible to work in Mental Health with current APCH. Minimum 4 years post‑graduate experience in an acute mental health setting, preferably community. Post‑graduate training in Mental Health (an asset). Duly Authorised Officer (DAO) training and knowledge of the Mental Health Act preferred. Evidence‑based practice and best‑practice clinical skills. Pathophysiological and psycho‑social knowledge in assessment, formulation, planning and delivery of care aligned with the model of care and Te Ara Tauwhirotanga.
