Job Description Oaks Wellington Hotel are looking for a passionate and motivated Demi Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. This role plays a key part in ensuring a smooth and efficient morning operation, from early preparation through to service, helping create an exceptional start to our guests’ day. Key Responsibilities Include: Plan, organise and assist with the preparation and presentation of breakfast, lunch and dinner dishes, ensuring consistency and quality. Assist in the development and plating of high-quality meals. Support the smooth execution of all services, working efficiently in a fast-paced morning environment. Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and compliance with food safety and hygiene standards at all times. Contribute to effective kitchen operations through strong teamwork and clear communication. Take initiative to develop culinary skills, particularly within breakfast and early service operations. Expected minimum hours: 30 hours per week Location: 89 Courtenay Place, Te Aro, Wellington 6011, New Zealand Hourly range: $26 - $28NZD per hour (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver). Payment of wages will be processed on a fortnightly basis by direct credit to your nominated bank account. Annual salary approximate: $40,560 - $43,680 (excluding contributions to KiwiSaver). Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment. Flexibility to work across a range of shifts, including weekends and public holidays. Self-motivated and able to work independently when required. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
