Court Security Officer - Auckland, District Court Location: Auckland, District Court As Court Security Officers we take pride in serving our community and ensuring a safe environment so people can access Justice without fear. Overview We interact, assist and build relationships with diverse groups of people, providing a safe and secure Court environment. We offer first‑class accredited training and future opportunities to grow into management or specialist roles within Justice. Responsibilities Engage and build relationships with a diverse range of people. Perform security screening, operate and maintain CCTV and electronic access control systems. Interact with other agencies and stakeholders such as Police, Corrections, lawyers, and judicial officers to ensure safe court proceedings. Patrol public areas, carry out building security checks, respond to duress alarm activations and identify, mitigate and report security, health, and safety threats and incidents. Qualifications & Skills Customer‑service, security, defence or government experience is desired but not essential. Confidence with technology. Experience with de‑escalation techniques. Physical ability to meet required training and engagement. Full contact officer safety training. Valid New Zealand driver’s licence and clean criminal record. Knowledge of TeTiriti o Waitangi and an understanding of cultural issues and TikangaMaori relevant to the role. Benefits Fully funded training in health, safety and security qualifications. Opportunity for leadership and further study courses. Training in x‑ray machines, walk‑through and handheld metal detectors, SRBA, RT, and handcuffing. Salary & Hours Salary band: $60,729 to $80,794. A 40‑hour Monday to Friday role with paid overtime and possible 3‑hour Saturday shifts. Rostered hours may include a minimum 3‑hour shift on Saturdays.
