Telecommunications Technician - FERDZ SERVICES LIMITED Location Auckland & Waikato Job Type Permanent, Full-time Hours Minimum 30 hours per week, maximum 50 hours per week. Pay Rate $32.00 - $40.00 per hour (depending on skills and experience) About Us FERDZ SERVICES LIMITED is providing installation, maintenance, testing and fault-finding services for residential, commercial and telecommunications network infrastructure. We are looking for an experienced Telecommunications Technician to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities Install, terminate and commission fibre optic and copper telecommunications cabling. Install telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, network cabinets, wireless devices and associated hardware. Conduct testing and commissioning using specialised telecommunications testing equipment. Diagnose faults and perform repairs on telecommunications networks and communication systems. Read and interpret telecommunications drawings, cable layouts and technical specifications. Configure telecommunications equipment and network devices in accordance with project requirements. Carry out preventative maintenance and emergency repair work on telecommunications infrastructure. Ensure all installations comply with New Zealand telecommunications standards, health and safety requirements and company procedures. Complete installation reports, service records and testing documentation accurately. Liaise with customers, project managers and other technicians to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on schedule. Assist with material preparation, equipment setup and site organisation. Provide technical support and troubleshooting when required. Skills and Experience Equivalent NZ Level 4 qualification or above in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related field; or 2-3 years of relevant work experience. Experience installing and maintaining fibre optic and copper communication systems. Knowledge of structured cabling systems and telecommunications infrastructure. Ability to read technical drawings and installation plans. Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills. Good communication and teamwork skills. What We Offer Competitive hourly rate.
