Job Description
Occupational Therapist – Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (iCAMHS) – Rotorua Permanent, part‑time (up to 28 hours per week, negotiable, with possible full‑time options). Role Overview Based in Rotorua’s Children’s Health Hub, the role supports the iCAMHS team in Rotorua and provides support to the Southern Lakes iCAMHS team based in Taupo. The occupational therapist will assess and facilitate individual and group work for children, young people and their families, with special interests in sensory integration. Key Responsibilities Facilitate the delivery of effective clinical services ensuring quality care and a safe recovery journey across the care continuum. Provide community mental health care based on current best practice and collaborative working within the interdisciplinary team. Perform all inter‑disciplinary referrals within the team with consent from tangata whaiora and their whānau, where applicable. Work collaboratively with complementary internal and external partner organisations. Qualifications and Experience Registered or eligible for registration with OTBNZ. Current full, clean NewZealand driver’s licence and meet children’s worker safety check requirements. Strong assessment and therapeutic intervention skills for children and young people. Ability to work efficiently independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team. Competency with te Ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or an active commitment to learning these. Experience in projects or initiatives that advance TeTiriti principles and Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches in healthcare settings. Benefits Competitive salary.
