About the Role Biomedical Scientist – Histopathology Location: The Princess Alexandra Hospital, Harlow, CM20 1QX Contract /Hours: Permanent, Full‑time (37.5 hours per week) Salary range: Up to £34,500 per annum, depending on experience This role is part of the Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board’s plan to modernise histology services. The laboratory is undergoing exciting changes with a fresh pathology and phlebotomy service backed by significant investments in new kits and technology. Working Monday to Friday, 8:30 am–5:00 pm, you will have a balanced schedule with no unsociable hours. Key Responsibilities Perform slide preparation and related laboratory tasks. Generate accurate diagnoses through reporting and analysis. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality assurance. Collaborate with the department to support service delivery and workforce planning. Qualifications & Requirements Professional registration with the HCPC. Discipline‑specific training in histopathology. Experience in a histopathology laboratory setting preferred. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
