Location Porirua' Ratonga o Rua Porirua Hospital Campus Contract Permanent, Part Time 0.93 FTE Rostered and Rotating (4 days on 2 days off) About the Role We are seeking motivated, innovative, and committed Registered Nurses with a strong interest in Forensic Mental Health Services. Our service delivers comprehensive assessment, treatment, and recovery focused care through a holistic range of interventions. We prioritise relational security to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all, and our practice is grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, with a strong emphasis on Te Whare Tapa Whā and the Fonofale model. We provide a multidisciplinary approach to specialised assessment and care for adults admitted via the courts or prison system. Operating within a robust clinical governance framework, we are a progressive service dedicated to ongoing professional development, offering regular supervision, a comprehensive Professional Development and Recognition Programme (PDRP), in‑service training, and support for external education. About the Team / Service / Location Our team comprises over 60 nurses and mental health support workers who collaborate within a multidisciplinary framework to support assessment, recovery and rehabilitation. Purehurehu is a regional, 20‑bed medium secure adult forensic unit for men, operating as a 24‑hour service on the Ratonga Rua o Porirua Hospital Campus. Our service is guided by core goals of promoting recovery, enhancing wellbeing, and ensuring safety for tangata whaiora, staff, and the wider community. About You You will demonstrate a genuine interest in forensic mental health nursing and bring enthusiasm as an active member of the team. We seek innovative and motivated Registered Nurses with a proactive attitude and strong time management skills.
