Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher The arts Lindisfarne College is a state-integrated Year 7–13 day and boarding school for boys, with a proud tradition of academic, cultural, and sporting excellence, underpinned by our special Christian character. Located on the outskirts of Hastings, our grounds and facilities support a rich co-curricular programme and enable students to develop their full potential. We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled art teacher to join our staff. This role includes teaching across Years 7–13, covering junior programmes and senior NCEA Visual Arts courses (painting, photography, and design). The successful candidate will engage boys in creative practice, build visual literacy, and foster confidence and innovation. Key responsibilities Deliver high-quality teaching programmes. Teach senior courses such as painting, photography, and/or digital art. Design learning aligned with the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum (NZC) and NCEA changes. Support development of creative thinking, problem-solving, and reflective practice. Integrate emerging technologies into teaching and learning. Work collaboratively within the art department. Contribute to curriculum development, resources, and moderation. Maintain and grow a vibrant and inclusive art culture. Contribute to co-curricular arts events, exhibitions, and competitions. Support a summer and winter co-curricular sport (paid in addition to CEA salary). Build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the wider community. Uphold the Christian values and special character of the College. Model integrity, respect, and service. About you You will: Have proven success teaching Art in New Zealand. Be confident teaching across a range of levels. Demonstrate a passion for engaging boys in learning. Be innovative and responsive to student needs. Contribute to the wider life of the College. Remuneration Salary will be determined in accordance with the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement 2025–2027, based on experience and qualifications.
