About the Role The Murchison Community Hospital and Health Centre provides an integrated service of Primary Health, In Patient and PRIME care. The Health Centre has 5 day a week GP or Nurse Practitioner clinics alongside daily Registered Nurse clinics. The Hospital has 6 aged care beds and 2 flexible beds. The flexible beds allow for assessment and observation, respite, palliative and rehabilitation care. Shifts are rostered and rotating across AM: 0700-1530 , PM: 1430-2300 , and Night 2245-0715 shifts. About the Team/Service/Location Murchison is a rural service town, with a permanent population of approximately 1100, located halfway between Nelson and Westport (1.5 hours travel in either direction). During the summer Murchison becomes a destination for holidaymakers seeking the great outdoors. Activities on offer include great fishing, rafting, walking, white water kayaking, jet boating and mountain biking. A Primary Response in Medical Emergency (PRIME) certificate, or an Advanced Life Support certificate is desirable.
