About The Role We’re seeking a collaborative and values‑driven Host Lead | Pou Tiaki Lead to provide day‑to‑day leadership at the Walter Nash Centre in Taita. This is a permanent full‑time position, working Tuesday to Saturday, 1:30 pm to 10:00 pm. Walter Nash Centre is a large, multi‑use facility with a strong focus on sport, recreation, and community use, alongside library and hub services. This role plays a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of a busy, high‑use environment, particularly during peak evening and weekend periods. Responsibilities Lead and support the Pou Tiaki team to deliver high‑quality front‑line service in a busy, multi‑use facility Oversee evening and weekend operations, including sport and recreation activities and events Act as the point of escalation for customer, facility, or team issues Support the coordination of activities across sport, recreation, library, and community services Work closely with the Site Lead to ensure operations run smoothly and safely Build strong relationships with centre users, including sports groups, community organisations, and Council partners Model Council values and contribute to a positive, connected team culture About You Experience leading frontline teams in a busy facility, recreation, events, or customer service environment Confidence managing evening and weekend operations, responding to issues as they arise A collaborative leadership style and ability to support and develop others Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with a wide range of users Cultural competence and a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi Energy, resilience, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑use environment Experience in recreation, events, or multi‑use facilities (highly desirable) About Us At Hutt City Council, our vision is to build a connected, resilient, and inclusive city where all of our people thrive – Kia noho mai tēnei tāone hei pou herenga waka, hei pou herenga kaupapa, hei wāhi whai hua ki hōna iwi.
