About the Role As the Regional Health & Safety Manager, you will lead delivery across the lower South Island. This role involves building relationships, coaching teams, and driving cultural change while applying technical expertise. Key Responsibilities Lead a team of 6 across the lower South Island, including Business Partners, Advisors, and senior capability. Own the delivery of the Health & Safety programme, aligning national strategy with local execution. Provide trusted, strategic advice to senior operational leaders. Champion a proactive, culturally focused approach to safety in complex, high-risk environments. Drive continuous improvement, compliance, and performance outcomes. Work within a dynamic setting involving a diverse range of individuals. Support two distinct locations with different operating strategies. Lead a team with strong retention but developing capability, requiring a hands‑on, coaching‑led leadership approach. Focus on practical delivery, stakeholder engagement, and cultural maturity. What You’ll Bring 10+ years in Health & Safety, including 5+ years in leadership roles. Experience in complex and regulated environments. Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver programmes at scale. Strong coaching and mentoring capability. Confidence operating in ambiguous, fast‑changing environments. Excellent communication, influencing, and decision‑making skills. Strong knowledge of NZ H&S legislation and compliance frameworks. Experience with incident investigation methodologies such as ICAM.
