Job Description
Lead Advisor / Senior Advisor We are looking for a Lead Advisor or Senior Advisor to join our Sourcing and Commercial Management team within Commercial Services. This role will focus on end‑to‑end sourcing – from early market engagement and procurement planning through to contract award, implementation and ongoing commercial support. Key Responsibilities Lead and shape commercial and supplier management strategies for significant Ministry contracts. Drive strategic commercial change and improvements that contribute to the Ministry’s goals and the broader Justice system. Analyze market trends and understand suppliers’ businesses to stay ahead of the curve. Engage in complex negotiations with top‑tier stakeholders, ensuring every dollar spent maximizes value. Mentor and develop the capabilities of team members and stakeholders, expanding expertise and making a lasting impact on the community. Integrate procurement, commercial or legal expertise with early market engagement, procurement planning, contract award and ongoing commercial support. Qualifications & Experience Procurement, commercial or legal background and/or qualification. Ability to identify, analyze and capitalize on business opportunities, including understanding market trends, financial implications and strategic drivers that impact the Ministry’s direction. Extensive experience in managing and negotiating contracts, with a thorough understanding of legal terms, risk management and compliance requirements. Strong customer focus and commitment to finding solutions for stakeholders. Supportive and approachable team player that fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment. In‑depth understanding of the Government Procurement Rules and how to apply them in complex situations. Commitment to the principles of teTiriti oWaitangi. Lead Advisors: 5 to 7years of relevant experience; Senior Advisors: 3 to 5years of relevant experience.
