Overview Variance Response Management (VRM) Resource – permanent pool, part‑time (0.8 FTE) at Nelson Hospital. Rostered and rotating shifts (AM, PM, N). Positions available for experienced RN/EN. About the role Support better health outcomes for patients across all wards and shifts. Provide quality care, advice, and support to manage their own health. Utilize advanced knowledge in general surgical/medical/acute‑care nursing to assess consumers’ health needs. Responsibilities Respond to acute needs of wards and departments. Practice independently and in collaboration with nursing colleagues and other health professionals. Assess consumers’ health needs and support self‑management. Work all three shifts – mornings, afternoons, nights – across a variety of units. Maintain up‑to‑date clinical practice and documentation. Qualifications Current NZNC registration and a practising certificate. Minimum of 2 years post‑registration general surgical/medical/acute‑care nursing experience. Enrolled or registered nurse with a can‑do attitude and flexibility. Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
