Senior Associate PM

A respected property and building consultancy is expanding its Project Management capability and is seeking a Senior Associate Project Manager as part of a planned growth hire in Auckland. This role suits an experienced Project Manager who wants senior accountability, influence at client level, and the opportunity to contribute to the growth and maturity of a PM service line, without stepping into formal business ownership or P&L responsibility. Strong New Zealand market experience is essential. The Role Lead complex, multi‑disciplinary projects across design and construction phases, while contributing directly to the strength and performance of the Project Management portfolio. Operating at senior client level, you will influence procurement strategies, risk positioning, and delivery frameworks, and act as a trusted escalation point on high‑value projects. This role combines delivery leadership with commercial awareness and relationship‑led growth. This is not a replacement role. It is a growth appointment for someone ready to step into a senior seat and be accountable for outcomes. Responsibilities Lead large and complex projects from feasibility through to construction completion Act as Engineer to the Contract or Engineer’s Representative where required Lead design coordination, procurement, and construction delivery Own senior client relationships and act as the escalation point for programme, risk, and delivery issues Contribute to portfolio growth through strong client relationships and repeat work Support departmental planning, resourcing, and service development initiatives Mentor Project Managers and support capability uplift across the team About You 7–10+ years’ experience in consultancy or client‑side project management within the New Zealand construction market Comfortable operating at senior client and stakeholder level Strong commercial awareness around delivery, risk, and client outcomes An established professional network within the NZ construction or property sector Motivated by influence, accountability, and contributing beyond your own projects Relevant construction or property qualification PMP and PMINZ membership, or equivalent, preferred Why Apply You’ll have genuine influence over how projects are delivered and how client relationships are managed, while being supported by an established consultancy platform.
