About the Role Job Title: Shift Maintenance Electrician Employment Type: Permanent Location: Dargaville, N, NZ Silver Fern Farms Dargaville is seeking a motivated Shift Maintenance Electrician to join our engineering team. The role involves day‑to‑day electrical reliability improvements, repairs, and maintenance on a large industrial food processing site. Key Responsibilities Work on a 4 on/4 off 12‑hour rotating shift roster, Monday to Sunday, minimum 45 hours per week. Perform day‑to‑day electrical maintenance, including troubleshooting and fault identification. Install new site equipment and support a range of electrical applications across the facility. Collaborate with the maintenance team to achieve root‑cause solutions and improve plant reliability. Qualifications and Skills Relevant trades qualification and full NewZealand Electrical Registration Board (EWRB) registration. Experience in FMCG or transferable production environments; alternatively, a proven ability to learn quickly in a similar setting. Good knowledge of electrical principles, repairs, and maintenance procedures for large industrial sites. Preferable exposure to PLCs and VSDs. Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills. Self‑motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a tight‑knit team. Organised and able to plan and prioritise workload in a challenging engineering environment. Desire to continue learning and up‑skill in leadership, automation, dual trading or project design.
