Job Description

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacher English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, The arts We are seeking a passionate and committed kaiako to join our senior team. This position will begin in Term 4, 2026, or earlier by mutual agreement. At Raureka School, we strive to create confident, connected, curious tamariki who strive for personal excellence. We are a positive and welcoming kura with strong values of respect, responsibility, relationships, and resilience, and we are proud to offer rich learning and cultural opportunities for our students. This position is currently in a Year 5 class for Term 4, 2026. As we finalise our 2027 school organisation, the year level placement may change and will be discussed with the successful applicant. Our new kaiako will: Build strong, positive relationships with tamariki, whānau and colleagues Have strong curriculum knowledge, particularly in literacy and mathematics Create an inclusive, engaging and well‑managed learning environment Use culturally responsive practices that value identity, language and culture Be confident working with senior students and supporting them to grow as leaders Work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute positively to our school culture Show a growth mindset and willingness to keep learning Contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities We are looking for a teacher who is motivated to work hard, make a real difference for our tamariki, and bring energy, warmth and humour to our team.
