As we continue to grow our Security Operations Centre (SOC), we're looking for a motivated and ambitious Junior SOC Analyst to join our Auckland-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the beginning of their cybersecurity career who wants to gain hands‑on experience working alongside experienced security professionals in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. About the Role As a Junior SOC Analyst, you'll play an important role in supporting our Security Operations Centre by monitoring security events, investigating alerts, documenting incidents, and assisting with incident response activities. Working closely with our global security team, you'll gain exposure to a variety of technologies, threat landscapes, and customer environments while building the foundational skills required for a successful career in cybersecurity. This position operates on a 4 days on, 4 days off rotation , with 10-hour shifts , providing excellent work‑life balance and extended time off between rotations. What You'll Be Doing Monitor security alerts across SIEM, EDR, IDS, and other security platforms. Perform initial triage and investigation of security alerts and incidents. Follow established playbooks and procedures to identify, assess, and escalate potential threats. Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of investigations, incidents, and remediation activities. Assist with network and endpoint investigations under guidance from experienced team members. Participate in threat detection, analysis, and operational improvement initiatives. Contribute to maintaining and improving SOC processes and workflows. Attend training sessions and knowledge‑sharing activities to develop technical expertise. What We're Looking For We're less concerned about years of experience and more interested in finding someone who is genuinely passionate about cybersecurity and eager to learn. Strong interest in cybersecurity and defensive security operations. Understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, and common network protocols. Basic knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems. Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, threats, and attack techniques. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills. High attention to detail and ability to document findings accurately. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Exposure to SIEM, EDR, IDS, or other security monitoring tools. Cybersecurity certifications such as Security+, SC-900, AZ-900, CCNA, or similar. Relevant degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. Hands‑on experience through labs, home projects, internships, university work, or CTF competitions. What You'll Receive Competitive salary of $70,000 – $90,000 NZD depending on experience.
