Qualified and registered ECE Kaiako (Maternity cover) Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 27/09/2026, End Date: 02/04/2027 (Maternity Leave) Early learning / kōhanga reo, Certificated teacher Belonging / Mana Whenua, Contribution / Mana Tangata, Communication / Mana Reo, Exploration / Mana Aotūroa, Well-being / Mana Atua Nature Kids is a privately owned centre in beautiful garden surroundings. The environment has been carefully prepared to provide opportunities for tamariki to be engaged, active and environmentally aware. We have a large outdoor environment, with real grass, fruit trees, vegetable gardens, a bike track, sandpits, and lots of small spaces to explore. We value connecting tamariki with their local community and are proud to have our own van to support regular excursions. Nature Kids have been in the community for 15 years. We are well-known for our teachers' long service to the centre and great relationships with our whānau and tamariki. As a kaiako at Nature Kids, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education and care to our tamariki and deliver activities that support the learning and development of each child. You will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive learning environment, developing individualized learning plans, and implementing engaging activities that support their goals and whanau aspirations. This position is with our 3–5-year-old children: 3 kaiako to 26 children. Key responsibilities include: fostering positive relationships with tamariki, whānau, and colleagues to create a supportive community within the centre assessing and documenting tamariki learning planning and delivering activities that support the learning and development of each child collaborating with other kaiako to create an enriching learning environment. Qualifications and requirements Diploma/Bachelor in ECE or Primary Education Current teacher registration with the Teaching Council Experience working with young tamariki in an ECE setting Strong understanding of child development, positive guidance and best practices in ECE Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Passion for teaching and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on children's lives.
