Registered Nurse, DOSU/Pre-Admission Clinical Location: Gisborne Hospital – Pre-Admissions Clinic (Monday to Friday, 08:00–16:30) with occasional cover in the Day of Surgery Unit (Monday to Friday, 07:15–19:30). We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our Pre-Admissions Clinic and Day of Surgery Unit team. In this role you will support patients throughout their surgical journey, ensuring safe, comprehensive, and compassionate care from admission to discharge. Your contribution will directly impact positive surgical outcomes and the delivery of excellent care to our community. Key Responsibilities Support patients throughout the surgical journey, from admission to discharge. Provide safe, comprehensive, and compassionate care. Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team while maintaining the ability to work independently. Remain calm under pressure and adapt to changing clinical demands. Support professional development and stay current with best practices in surgical nursing. Qualifications Current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a valid Annual Practicing Certificate. Recent surgical nursing experience. Compassionate and approachable manner, with excellent communication and problem‑solving skills. Commitment to professional development; postgraduate qualifications are an advantage.
