What Makes This Role Great This position offers a unique end-to-end perspective on product quality, allowing you to transition from lab-based stress testing to real-world field validation. You will play a critical role in the quality assurance of our rugged handheld computers and radios working with associated sensors (GNSS receivers, total stations, and scanners), directly ensuring reliable operation for a global customer base in the GIS, Surveying, and Construction industries. Key Exciting Responsibilities Perform rigorous hands‑on hardware testing of Trimble Rugged Handheld computers (Android & Windows) to verify durability and functionality under field conditions. Execute system‑level testing for external sensors, including radios, GNSS receivers, total stations, and scanners, ensuring seamless data capture. Design and execute test plans to evaluate device performance and reliability across various operational environments. Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to provide feedback on new features and verify hardware and software fixes. Essential Skills & Experience Currently working towards a tertiary qualification in Geography, Surveying, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Effective verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to work within a highly collaborative team. High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem‑solving in a changing technical environment. A willingness to work outdoors for field‑based testing and data collection activities. Must be legally authorised to work in New Zealand. Bonus Points For Experience using Surveying/Construction/GIS field software and hardware. Experience working with Android or Windows operating systems. Knowledge of RF (Radio Frequency) communication or GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) technologies.
