Based at our Mataura site, this is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Industrial Electrician to join a high-performing engineering environment within a large-scale industrial operation. In this hands-on role, you will diagnose and repair faults, complete planned preventative maintenance, and contribute to initiatives that improve plant reliability and reduce electrical downtime across a diverse range of industrial equipment and systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem-solving, working within a fast-paced operational environment, and contributing to continuous improvement and plant performance. This is a full-time permanent role. The duties of the role will include: Diagnosing faults and responding to electrical breakdowns across plant and equipment Completing planned and preventative maintenance activities Installing, commissioning, testing, maintaining and repairing electrical plant, equipment and control systems Working with PLC-controlled systems, automation, instrumentation and process control systems Supporting conveyors, VSD-controlled motors, refrigeration systems and other plant equipment Reading and interpreting engineering and electrical drawings and technical documentation Monitoring and improving plant reliability while reducing electrical downtime Supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives Working collaboratively with the wider Engineering and Production teams Ensuring compliance with New Zealand electrical regulations, site safety standards and safe work practices About You To be successful in this role you will: Hold a relevant electrical trade qualification (minimum NZQF Level 4 or equivalent) and current EWRB registration with a valid practising licence Have a minimum of three years' post-qualification experience in industrial, manufacturing, processing, FMCG or similar maintenance environments Demonstrate strong fault-finding and troubleshooting capability Be able to read and interpret engineering and electrical drawings Have experience with PLC, SCADA or related control systems (advantageous) Have knowledge of VSDs, instrumentation and process control systems Bring strong analytical, communication, time management and organisational skills Demonstrate ownership, accountability and a commitment to health, safety and continuous improvement Work effectively both independently and as part of a team Be available to work weekends as part of a rotating roster What’s in it for you?
