Based at our Mataura site, this is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Industrial Electrician to join a high‑performing engineering environment within a large‑scale industrial operation. In this hands‑on role, you will diagnose and repair faults, complete planned preventative maintenance, and contribute to initiatives that improve plant reliability and reduce electrical downtime across a diverse range of industrial equipment and systems. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys technical problem solving, working within a fast‑paced operational environment, and contributing to continuous improvement and plant performance. The Duties Of The Role Will Include Fault finding and breakdown response across plant and equipment Planned and preventative maintenance activities Working with PLC controlled systems, automation, instrumentation, and process control systems Supporting conveyors, VSD controlled motors, refrigeration systems, and other plant equipment Monitoring and improving plant reliability and reducing electrical downtime Reading and interpreting engineering and electrical drawings Supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiency initiatives Working collaboratively with the wider Engineering and Production teams Ensuring compliance with NZ electrical regulations and site safety standards Maintaining a strong commitment to safe work practices and plant performance Ō Pūkenga - About You To be successful in this role you will be the kind of person who: Holds a relevant trade qualification and current NZ EWRB registration Has proven industrial, manufacturing, processing, or FMCG maintenance experience Demonstrates strong fault finding and troubleshooting capability Can read and interpret engineering and electrical drawings Has experience with PLC, SCADA, or related control systems (advantageous) Has knowledge of VSDs, instrumentation, and process control systems Brings strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Has excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills Demonstrates a positive attitude towards ownership and accountability Can work both autonomously and within a team environment Is committed to health, safety, and continuous improvement Is available to work weekends as part of a rotating roster We’re looking for someone who wants to be challenged, supported, and developed within a technically diverse industrial environment.
